NET and DTT can be incorporated into a child’s individualized programming by teaching skills in the natural environment, while teaching other complex skills in a structured DTT manner. We evaluate the best ways a child can learn each skill, by varying the approach. It is important that all goals transfer from the structured environment to the natural environment, where they would encounter more opportunities to engage in the behavior. Incorporating both of these approaches will maximize the child’s overall learning and experience.

Promotes family and sibling involvement where therapy time can be used to

educate siblings and caregivers, work on social skills, and build a positive sibling relationship.
